Wednesday, May 14, 2008 Pet Boarding Recommendations by DDOG Members: Anchor Kennel Accokeek, MD Has a long run with indoor and outdoor components. They breed boston terriers, so there's plenty of noise. Rates are reasonable. Royal Alexandria (across from the Huntington Metro) Keeps dogs indoors, but walks them outdoors 4 times a day. Old Town Pet Resort A little past Lorton off 95 Paws Awhile Pet Motel Warrenton, VA 540-347-4855 Very individualized care. Fenced area where dogs are walked (on leash). Country Club Kennels Catlett, VA, 540-788-3559 http://www.countryclubkennels.com Has 2 acres of fenced area for off leash play every day. A little far but your companion will love you for it. Dominion Animal Hospital McLean, VA Dogs get the 4 star treatment and they follow up with correspondence and report cards. Always There Pet Care Arlington, off of Route 66 A doggy day camp with a large gym where dogs play and a small outside area with a kitty pool in the summer. For dogs that need a calmer situation and/or spend the night, they have a separate living room style area that is completely separated from the gym, and they also allow particularly shy dogs to hang out in the front office. They can also manage medication and allow your dog to bring his/her own food. Also, someone stays with the dogs overnight in the living room area. They either play classical music or watch TV before lights out. The only time the dogs are in cages is during play breaks. ©Copyright 2004 Del Ray Dog Owners Group (DDOG) |
